OK so the cold open this week... You're probably going to read about it on Louis's page. If you know him, you'll know this version is fictional.

Here is what actually happened: I scheduled a 30-minute block to get the openning. By the time Louis got to set, Tammy was already in costume (a chicken suit--there was reason for this) and we had maybe 5 minutes to spare. Steve was testing angles for the master shot. The tape was rolling because when has steve ever NOT had the tape rolling? Anyway, Louis walks in, says "let's just go," takes his mark, and immediately delivers the monologue from LAST WEEK. Tammy doesn't break character, neither. Tammy's giving her lines correctly but it no longer makes any sense in the wrong context. I'm in the booth losing my mind and Steve seems completely content filming this mess.

I don't know why I let it run. We ended up with eight minutes of footage, none of it usable. We cut it into bumpers for commercial breaks.

Honestly though, it might be the best thing we've ever made.

3 thoughts on the new cut, in order of importance:

1. Louis is ~6 seconds too long in the second monologue.
2. Tammy's makeup looks amazing under the lights with the blue + 1/2 green gel, but it breaks down for the "interior" shotsher page.
3. I don't care what anyone says, the "documentary aside" is funnier than the bit it interrupts. Take it up with my fists.
