Video Games Have Built A Fast Growing Community

That’s right! Gaming started as a solo adventure with pure joy and gratification on just enjoying a simple 8-bit game and is now a vastly growing community where opportunity awaits on the horizon. The social culture that comes with video games is life-changing. Being able to communicate with other players and experience a game cohesively has led to long term friendships. People are fully engaged to help one another to help accomplish one overarching goal; beating the game. People from around the world can play with one another and with AR & VR coming into full production the community will grow tenfold. Newer generations are experiencing this first hand as they will be able to hop online and immediately be introduced to random players that they can start a conversation with.

It’s truly amazing how far video games have progressed. In the early 90’s I couldn’t imagine video games being a profession for various reasons. It was really just a hobby and form of entertainment. Fast forward to today and we can see how people can make a good income from streaming games or attending competitive events with money as a reward for the winner. Playing video games has become a viable profession. On top of making money, video games have also come along way as far as how realistic the games are looking and how developers keep pushing the envelope for a better gaming experience. 8-bit is a thing left in the past and now the latest and greatest thing is VR gaming. As new technology emerges the gaming industry will continue to define new possibles and more opportunities will arise. Due to this new environment that has emerged with streaming, the social culture has expanded. Thousands of people are able to talk to each other instantly through the chat log. The community also comes together in a way that they start making their own dialect in a sense. It’s become a norm in the streaming world to use emotes when speaking with one another. It’s almost like we are reverting back to hieroglyphics as a form of writing and communicating. The community continues to grow as more people start streaming and building an audience for their streams. The progression and impact of video games are forever growing and we are at the forefront of this wave.
