Cowardly Blocks Tutorial

The Start

The game starts off quite simple. You have one block and you can move it around by right clicking on the screen.

This shows the start of the game.

Gaining Units

You'll notice green blocks on the screen, these are Power Ups. Running over them with your units gives you another unit already pre-selected and ready to move!

Controlling Units

Once you gain multiple units you'll start to notice it's hard to move around the grey walls. You can actually deselect units by left clicking the mouse and reselect them by left-clicking and dragging a box over them. Unselected units are blue, they won't move when unselected but they are still vulnerable!

Walls

You'll notice many grey walls blocking your path throughout the Collection Phase. These can actually be "broken" by running into them and waiting for ~5 seconds. Then after ~10 seconds they'll reappear as normal. This prevents you from being locked out of any power ups.

The Timer

You're given 30 seconds to collect as many Power Ups as possible before you enter the "Dodging Phase". So be sure to collect as many as you can!

The Dodging Phase

In this phase you can potentially lose the game! For 30 seconds projectiles will fall from the top of the screen and delete any units they touch. This gets progressively harder after every Collection Phase.

Projectile Deletion

In the projectile phase, if you hold shift+left click and select projectiles it will delete them. However, the maximum amount of projectiles deleted in one selection is determined by how many units you have selected. Once you've finished a projectile deletion ALL of your selected units go into a "cooldown" phase for 15 seconds where they can't move. This strategy is risky but can be effective once you learn to control only a certain amount of units at a time.
