Writing and Editing
Whether creating a story, essay or business report, I deliver writing that is clear, concise
and compelling. Following are a few samples of my recent work. Feel free to explore the
writings by clicking on any image.
"My Invisible Mom"
I wrote this for a class on rhetorical writing conventions. My Mom was the inspiration,
and the writing became the inspiration for a website I later developed (please see "Narrative
Website" in the 'Creative Projects' section).
Blog
This blog posting, which I wrote for an Advanced Social Media class, provides guidance on how
(and how not) to use Facebook as part of a small business marketing program.
Reflection Essay
In the summer of 2011 I was privileged to be a fellow in the Mobile Tech Research Initiative
at Washington State University Vancouver. As part of the program I studied composition and design
for the mobile app environment, and this essay reflects on my personal growth and learning from the
experience.
Report
This paper reports on content and design elements I incorporated into a creative brochure that I
developed (please see "Brochure" in the 'Creative Projects' section). It was written for
a class on technical writing, and provides clear rationale and support for the creative choices
I implemented.
Database Analysis
In recent studies I explored how information is stored and retrieved in the analog and digital
worlds. This analysis explores the audience, content, structure and features of an academic database.
